The SUNSON project is developing a modular and highly compact solar-to-heat-to-power solution known as the SUNSON-BOX. This innovative concept combines concentrated solar power technologies, ultra-high-temperature thermal storage, and thermophotovoltaic energy converters in a single system.
By integrating renewable energy capture, thermal storage, and electricity generation, SUNSON aims to provide electricity on demand from a thermal source. In addition, the system can support industrial heat processes, hot water, and indoor heating, contributing to a more flexible and efficient use of renewable energy.
